Shelley was schooled in Leicester, did A levels, and then went to University of
Birmingham in 1992. Qualified as a secondary school teacher, and then took up
her first job at a school in Birmingham. Unfortunately, she missed home so much
that she soon returned to Leicester, and took up a new role at Lovely Lane High
School. And it’s a good job that she did, for that is where she met her
husband to be! Hobbies include girls nights out with her friends, badminton, and
trying, somewhat unsuccessfully, to learn to cook. Boy, has Dave got a shock
coming in that department! Shelley has such a fear of spiders that she has to
ask her Dad to catch them whenever one appears in the house. Loves dogs, and
loves nothing more than walking Ben, her Golden Labrador around the local park
– except, of course, when its raining, at which time Dad always seems to end
up doing the honours! Apart from spiders, her pet hates include football and the comedian Harry Hill, and her ambition is to see the world
before she’s thirty.)
